v      Key Figures in Silwad

 
Silwad tribes brought into existence  many figures and intellectuals of high caliber, the tribe of Hamed contributed Sheikh Juma’a, Sheikh Saleh and Sheikh Fathallah Silwadi who became the Mufti of Palestine.

One of the distinguished characters from the Hammad tribe is Sheikh Abdulhameed Joodieh who went into the judicial track since 1927, he then established the Cultivator’s Party, the Sheikh had a promising future but he died at an early stage (35 years).

From Ayyad tribe there was Sheikh Khalil who had the significant effort of enlightening  the people of Silwad.

v     رجالات البلدة

برز من حمائل سلواد رجال علم وأدب فمن عائلة حامد برز اسم الشيخ جمعة والشيخ صالح والأديب الشاعر فتح الله السلوادي الذي تولى منصب الافتاء في فلسطين.

ومن عائلة حماد برز المرحوم الشيخ عبد الحميد جودية الذي تولى منصب القضاء عام 1927 ثم قام بتأسيس حزب لنصرة الفلاح ولولا ان هذا الشيخ قد لاقى وجه ربه وهو في الخامسة والثلاثين.

أما عائلة عياد فقد كان هناك الشيخ خليل الذي كان له الفضل الكبير في توعية اهالي اليلدة.
